Paul Wintermute

 

Paul Wintermute is an accomplished business leader and commercial real estate expert with president, chief operating officer, investment officer, and board director experience.  His diverse real estate background includes successful leadership roles in institutional asset management, fee property management and leasing, commercial mortgage lending, and “Fortune 500” corporate real estate administration.

Mr. Wintermute’s professional experience includes five years as facility manager and chief engineer at the prestigious Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, three years as a facility and property manager at Murdock Development Company, three years as an office and industrial property manager at Centre Properties (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Heitman Properties, Ltd.), and fifteen years at Transamerica Corporation where he served in numerous increasingly responsible positions, including Vice President and Director of Asset Management at Transamerica Realty Services, Inc.; President and Chief Operating Officer of Transamerica Real Estate Management Co.; Investment Officer for the Transamerica Life Companies; and as a director on the boards of Transamerica Realty Services, Inc., Transamerica Real Estate Management Co., Bankers Mortgage Company of California, Pyramid Investment Corporation, Transamerica Minerals Company, The Gilwell Company, and Ventana Inn & Spa, Big Sur.  His highly varied responsibilities at Transamerica Corporation also included corporate real estate management, mortgage loan evaluation, LIHTC investment evaluation, private placement due diligence, and the administration of both a $100 million REMIC and a $68 million liquidating property trust.

Mr. Wintermute has acquired, managed, and liquidated a large variety of real property located throughout the United States, including class “A” to “C” high, mid and low-rise office buildings; multi-story and garden style apartment properties; office and industrial parks; large rail and port-served distribution centers; regional mall to “strip” shopping centers; flagship hotels and resorts; and large parcels of brownfield land.  The owners of the aforementioned real property have included numerous large, foreign and domestic retirement plan sponsors and financial institutions, and the U.S. government.

Mr. Wintermute holds the Real Property Administrator® designation and has been a licensed California Real Estate Broker since 1986.  For many years he also held simultaneous real estate broker licenses in the States of Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.

Mr. Wintermute received a BA degree in philosophy from Westmont College, an MA degree in philosophy from the University of Southern California, and a Certificate in real estate with a concentration in marketing from the University of California at Los Angeles.  He holds a valid-for-life Community College Instructor Credential from The California Community Colleges.
